Overview
The Lockheed Martin Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP) is a rigorous, two-year, early career, rotational program. It is designed to provide exposure to different key business functions, technical knowledge, leadership training and networking opportunities to provide you with the tools needed to enhance your career development at Lockheed Martin.
Key aspects of the program include:
o Four, six-month job rotations
o Technical Development Curriculum (TDC)
o Leadership Development Conferences (LDCI & LDCII)
o Operations Leadership Workshop (OLW)
o Cross-functional business projects
o Mentoring from business leaders
o Diverse business area and functional experience

Program Criteria
OLDP is designed to attract, develop, and retain early career high potential professionals in the areas of manufacturing engineering, material management, quality control, supply chain and operations. Some of the competencies and qualifications we look for are:
o Academic excellence (min 3.0 cumulative GPA)
o Bachelors degree in a related field
o Demonstrated leadership ability
o Commitment to program, profession and industry
o Flexibility and willingness to relocate
o Relevant work experience
o Interpersonal and teamwork skills

o Ability to obtain a security clearance

Future Opportunities
OLDP graduates will have developed an overall understanding of the business, and increased awareness of their career goals. Graduates then take advantage of a variety of positions across the corporation for business and technical roles in management, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, industrial health and safety, and engineering.

Technical Development Curriculum
Graduate Certificate Program
The Graduate Certificate Program (GCP) is offered exclusively through Drexel University eLearning. This curriculum consists of four core classes that compliment rotations in sourcing, operations, and quality. Each participant will have to pass these four online courses at Drexel to receive the GCP certificate necessary for OLDP graduation. Upon successful completion each participant will receive a certificate entitled, "Operations Leadership and Organizational Management."
Operations Leadership Workshop
During their second year on program, OLDP participants will attend the Operations Leadership Workshop (OLW). OLW is a Lockheed Martin sponsored one-week long conference geared towards developing the managerial and interpersonal skills necessary for effective leadership.

Rotational Assignments

  • Operations: Program Management, Supervisor, Production Control , Industrial Engineer, Systems Integration
  • Sourcing: Supply Chain Management, Lean Procurement, International Sourcing, Corporate Agreements
  • Quality: Quality Assurance Leader, Process Control, Lean & Six Sigma, Supplier Quality, Software Quality

• Elective: Business Development, Design Engineer, Finance, Corporate Audit, Environmental Safety & Health

 

In order to gain a broad range of experience, after one year on program, relocation to a different business unit is highly encouraged. It is expected that OLDP participants will complete one rotation in each of the different functions. In addition, you will receive a formal mentor to help with career discussions and opportunities.
